Quatro leches cake is a traditional Latin American dessert that is loved by many. It is a delicious and unique cake made with four different kinds of milk and topped with whipped cream. This recipe is easy to make and is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Ingredients



For the cake:
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk


For the four milks mixture:
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk


For the topping:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preparing the cake:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan. In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined. Add the milk and mix until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Making the four milks mixture:

In a medium bowl, mix together the condensed milk, evaporated milk, heavy cream, and whole milk. Set aside.

Assembling the cake:

Once the cake is done baking, let it cool for 10 minutes. Once the cake has cooled, poke holes in the top of the cake with a fork. Pour the four milks mixture over the top of the cake, making sure to evenly coat the cake. Let the cake cool completely before adding the topping.

Making the topping:

In a medium bowl, whip together the heavy cream, confectioners sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the top and sides of the cake. Serve and enjoy!
